Kyruus Health used SpendHound to gain control of software renewals and reveal real platform usage. By connecting NetSuite and Bill.com for invoice data and integrating Okta for login tracking, Finance identified hundreds of unused licenses, avoiding $100-$400K in annual expense. Renewal coordination is now faster, saving time and preventing last-minute surprises.
Kyruus Health is the leading healthcare access platform that connects payers and providers to help patients find the right care and hospitals optimize schedules. They serve more than 1,400 hospitals and more than 550 medical groups, supporting over half a million connected partners.
Six months into the role, Patrick Dennehy, Senior Director of Finance, also inherited procurement, which had recently been consolidated under Finance. With no dedicated team or platform oversight, Patrick faced renewal blind spots and unclear usage data across hundreds of licenses.
What happens when software contracts renew before anyone realizes they’re due? That’s what Patrick had to answer when he inherited procurement. Renewals were slipping through unnoticed, and key stakeholders often received notices only days before expiration, leaving Finance and Legal in trouble.
The visibility problem ran deeper. After two acquisitions, Kyruus Health was running duplicate systems and hundreds of seats with no clear usage picture. And without real usage data, every renewal decision was based on assumptions.
Vendors, meanwhile, had leverage. Annual 5-10% price uplifts were treated as routine, and switching platforms mid-year wasn’t realistic. Without reliable benchmarks or time for negotiations, the company often accepted quoted renewals.
Every cycle consumed time. On average, six renewals a month required manual reminders, coordination with owners, and late-stage reviews, work that kept Finance reactive instead of strategic.
Kyruus Health chose SpendHound to get control over software renewals, expose real usage, and uncover negotiation leverage, all without new budget or headcount.
Finance connected NetSuite and Bill.com so SpendHound could automatically ingest invoices and renewal periods. To meet security standards, Patrick restricted data access to vendor and subscription accounts, excluding sensitive categories like compensation or legal spend. After approval, implementation finished in about three weeks.
By integrating Okta, Kyruus Health gained user-level login data over 30-, 60-, and 90-day windows. For the first time, Finance could prove which teams were actually using each tool, and how many licenses could safely be cut before renewal.
App owners and approvers were tagged directly in SpendHound, so they automatically received notifications ahead of upcoming renewals. That workflow replaced email chases and kept every renewal visible.
When vendors pushed for price increases, Patrick used SpendHound for benchmark context, contract review, and even ghostwritten negotiation emails, helping the team push back without hiring external consultants.
On a single platform audit, Kyruus Health uncovered hundreds of idle licenses through SpendHound’s Okta integration—most notably in Monday.com, where usage data showed that only product, engineering, and marketing teams were active.
By rightsizing that contract and others, Finance cut licenses significantly, saving between $100K and $400K in annual expense without limiting access for core users.
The renewal process itself has transformed. Before SpendHound, Patrick’s team spent hours chasing contract owners and coordinating last-minute reviews. Now, every owner is tagged in the platform, and renewals surface automatically with context.
“I don’t have to hunt down contracts anymore. We just tag the owner in SpendHound, and it’s handled. That automation saves about 1.5 hours per month across Kyruus’ half-dozen renewal cycles, time Finance can invest in analysis instead of admin work.
When vendors pushed for price increases, the team turned to SpendHound’s benchmark reports and procurement advisors for leverage. “Before, we had no idea what others paid. Now we know when to push back and what’s fair.”, Patrick explained. With SpendHound, Finance could push back on routine 5-10% uplifts without hiring outside consultants.
Patrick also emphasized the platform’s security fit and responsiveness. SpendHound’s team worked directly with Finance and IT to configure access only to vendor spend accounts. “We restricted what it could pull, no compensation data, no personnel, no legal”, Patrick recalled.
Kyruus Health gained renewal visibility and saved up to $400K on SaaS spend with SpendHound’s benchmarks and expert guidance—all for free.

“Before SpendHound, we didn’t have a clear picture into who was using what platform. Now we do. For the first time, we can see exactly who’s using what, and we’re not paying for what we don’t need.”
