As one of the largest travel services organizations globally, Internova Travel Group manages $450M in annual vendor spend and inherited 54 acquisitions' worth of contracts, systems, and duplicate tools. SpendHound gave them one place to analyze spend, expose unused tools, and surface upcoming renewals. Within weeks, they uncovered $20K in annual waste and reclaimed 8-16 hours every quarter by removing spreadsheet cleanup work.
Internova Travel Group supports over 100,000 agents, more than 3,000 employees, and dozens of travel brands, from Altour and Barrhead Travel Group to Global Travel Collection and Travel Leaders Network. The company manages $450M in annual vendor spend, spanning software, services, operations, data centers, and travel infrastructure.
Into that scale stepped Keith Mirowitz. Internova had completed 54 acquisitions in five years, leaving contracts scattered across desktops, shared drives, paper files, and legacy systems. NetSuite held partial spend data, but vendors appeared under multiple SKUs, with invoices difficult to track and extract. Keith’s mandate was to standardize processes and deliver $3M in savings, without increasing the budget.
When Keith took over procurement, Internova’s maturity level was “reactionary.” There was no centralized contract library, no clear spend history, no reliable renewal calendar, and no simple way to know whether a vendor was still active, duplicated, or already replaced.
The barriers were consistent and costly:
To reach his $3M savings target, Keith needed to know what they are spending, where renewals are coming due, and what they can eliminate or renegotiate. And that’s where SpendHound came in.
Keith explained it simply: “Having the right data is critical. I’m big on data analytics, especially around spend. But you need to “marry” data with context, match it with internal stakeholders’ expectations. It’s great to know where you fail. So, having that data is fantastic.”
SpendHound became the team’s first source of truth. Instead of downloading ERP exports and scrubbing data, SpendHound automatically structured Internova’s SaaS and vendor payments with 90% accuracy, enough to make renewal decisions and spot anomalies.
Finding a single invoice required multiple steps. In SpendHound, Keith could search for a vendor name and view the invoice in one click, removing the most tedious part of the procurement workflow.
Procurement now receives an automated renewal email every week. For a company still building its contract repository in AgileLaw, this became its de facto renewal calendar.
SpendHound also surfaced redundancies immediately. Most notably, the team saw duplicate tooling, like using DocuSign and Adobe Sign to complete the same tasks. It led to an immediate savings win.
In the first weeks of using SpendHound, Internova uncovered an unused online meeting platform scheduled to renew. The tool had been abandoned a year earlier, and removing it saved about $20,000 annually with no operational impact.
Procurement also eliminated one of its biggest recurring burdens: quarterly spend analysis. What previously required 8-16 hours of vendor cleanup, SKU deduplication, and journal entry filtering now happens automatically in SpendHound. Keith and his team can move straight to making decisions.
Redundancy insights revealed overlapping platforms left over from years of acquisitions. One example was DocuSign and Adobe Sign, where SpendHound helped quantify usage and total spend across both tools. With a clear comparison in hand, Internova consolidated onto Adobe, simplifying license management.
Renewal visibility improved as well. The weekly email became the team’s earliest signal of upcoming contracts. Keith now scans for unfamiliar vendors he may not have been aware of, helping prevent renewals from slipping through unnoticed.
Day to day, SpendHound also replaced their ERP as the default place to pull invoices. Instead of going through activity logs, journals, communication tabs, and file attachments in emails, Keith can search for a vendor name and open the invoice in one click.
Across these early wins, SpendHound gave Internova the directional clarity it needed, supporting Keith’s broader mandate to deliver $3M in annual savings with a lean procurement team.
Internova is building a modern procurement function without adding budget by using SpendHound as its backbone for renewal visibility, benchmarking, and spend cleanup.
